Birthday Girl Weekend
by matt ~ December 6th, 2009. Filed under: Life In General.Friday – Angie and I met in Muncie at the Blue Bottle and spent the evening Christmas shopping. We had dinner at Carino’s before returning home and watching the movie, ‘The Departed’. Really good flick.
Saturday – I woke up all gung-ho to work. Then the Boy Scout Office called reminding me of popcorn pickup. So, I jumped in the car and went into Muncie to pick it up. The kiddos came out around noon. We had lunch and then I had my daughter get on the phone with her friend to schedule plans for the evening. It was my daughter’s 11th birthday. Angie, my daughter and I drove to Mt. Summit to pick up my daughter’s friend, then drove into Muncie. The first stop was Angie’s present to my daughter which was to have their nails done. I left the girls there and went to Hobby Lobby. I’ve got an idea for the house and gathered the supplies. I picked up the girls and we headed into the Ball State Village stopping in to eat pizza at Greek’s. I forgot how good Greek’s pizza really is. Finally, it was time to go to the movie.
The girls were all giddy. We got to the Showplace 12 a little after 6pm. The movie was Ok, if I was 11. Anyway, the girls really liked it. They both ‘gasped’ at the ending. Back home, the girls went upstairs and Angie and I settled in with my oldest to watch a movie to off-set the teen angst we just watched. My youngest son was dropped off by the grandparents. He had a big night at the Monroe Central High School basketball game. He got to shake hands with ‘Boomer’, the Pacer’s mascot. We ended up watching ‘Quantum of Solace’, the latest James Bond film.
Sunday – I woke up and made breakfast for everyone which included Hot Chocolate with marshmallows, pancakes, french toast and eggs. For Sunday dinner, we went down to Nana and Papa’s for Lasagna birthday dinner for my daughter. Cake and Ice Cream was consumed and presents opened. After all that, we took my daughter’s friend back to Mt. Summit. My daughter and I went shopping at Wal-Mart for supplies before returning home to play ‘Picktureuka’, a birthday present. Once the kiddos were returned, Angie and I had dinner and then she headed off for Indy.
